Ive just returned from maternity leave and have decided to leave my permanent position and locum instead as it is working out better for family life. I'm having to pay for my pwn VDS insurance, registration fees and CPD. As you can imagine

RE: new to locuming please help with Cheap CPD solutions!!!

There's no requirement to do attendance / lectures, as long as you fill the requirements it can be however you want.

It's worth registering on websites for drug companies and food companies (Dechra, Boehringer academy, Burgess webinars), webinar provider websites (like the webinar vet, Improve, cpd solutions etc) as they often have free/taster webinars and an archive you can access for free. The vetgrad.co.uk website has a good list of free CPD sources.

I also find that the clinician's brief website is quite good for articles (as long as you record what you read and what you learnt from it, reading articles counts too!)

RE: new to locuming please help with Cheap CPD solutions!!!

I locum as well so I am always on the lookout for free/cheap useful cpd. I mainly use the ISFM and Boehringer free webinars, I think Dechra also have quite a few! Intervet have a free Diabetes advisor course which is worth quite a few hours.

Also BVNA has just launched a £30 (free for members) dental care certificate which is worth 8 hours!
Hope some of this helps!
