Thinking of setting up a pet care business

Hi all,
I'm becoming increasingly disheartened with nursing and have been contemplating starting a pet care business. I sort of already do a few bits on the side for friends and family.
Has anyone given up nursing to do this?

Most common is probably petsitting (feeding cats and small furries, house sitting with dogs and doggy day care/boarding), or dog walking. There is definitely a demand for behaviourists (the amount of times owners ask 'while I'm here in the last two minutes of my appointment, my dog has these complex behavioural problems....')! Get your local practices to recommend you, for instance to those animals with health conditions where the owners worry a cattery won't cope (like diabetic animals or those needing tube feeding)

Extras - I reckon just think of what you might do in a nurse consult, so nails, anal glands, baths/grooming, teeth brushing etc. I would be wary of anything that you feel is outside your comfort zone, and avoid should be under 'veterinary direction' (if you are doing physiotherapy or hydro or acupuncture, the animal's veterinary surgeon could refer the animal to you for those treatments)

RE: Help!
