Hi!

Most locums use VDS (Veterinary Defence Society) for professional indemnity insurance - see reference to this in the Vetnurse Wiki section - The guide to working as locum veterinary nurse - 'Insurance' section.

There's also information about Public Liability Insurance as well.

Over the years, we’ve had a lot of questions in the forum about working as a locum, so I’ve joined forces with Alison Clare Hickman, to produce what we hope will become the ultimate guide for anyone thinking of working as a locum.

It’s a collaborative guide, which means we need all locums or nurses thinking of locuming or who have locumed in the past to have a look at it, and see whether you think it covers everything, or if there are other questions that need to be answered.

PS I know it is missing the Ltd Co / Umbrella / Self-employed question. That's coming soon. Very complex subject!
