&lt;p&gt;bank holidays can count towards your 5.6 x working week so if you dont open or &amp;quot;work&amp;quot; the bank holiday they can take it out of your holiday as they dont technically have to pay you for having a bank holiday off.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;so as far as I am concerned you are entitled to 5.6 x your working week, ie say you work 17 hours a week you would be entitled to 95.2 hours holiday a year&lt;/p&gt;
