 one of my dogs has been diagnosed with lumbar-sacryl disease today so I want to get him a special bed - can anyone recommend a good one?

&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#39;d recommend memory foam mattresses - I have them for my little border as he has OA, and they definitely make a difference. You can buy cut off pieces from ebay and Amazon that are big enough for a dog bed. The ones I &amp;#39;ve had a while were from PAH and they were memory foam chip with a sheepskin (fleece) cover, but I&amp;#39;m going to get him a piece of memory foam and put it under his cushion that&amp;#39;s already in his bed as I&amp;#39;ve heard the solid peices of foam are even better. You can get different thicknesses too.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;They have lasted 8 years so far and still look exactly the same as the day I bought them. The stuffing is firm but comfortable (I sit on them frequently).
