She will be my 1st student ( ). I know from my experience as a student what worked and didn't for me but that was a few years ago now.
It depends on your practice, how busy you are and how much time you'll get together etc. Personally I found that I had very little time with my student in practice and used other staff members to help with the 'demonstrating back' part of it. Also use other nurses - if you have one who loves lab (for example) and you hate it then get them to do the majority of that module and get her to feed back.

I got my student to have a little notebook and to fill in - patient id , what the task was, what units they are in and what she's claiming for and then I'd log whatever I needed to whenever I got time (which was usually either in the middle of a night shift or with a glass (or three) of wine in the evenings!

Depending on the college you're using, they may provide you with a template of tutorial sheets they want you to use. I've also seen CCs use a quick template they've made themselves on the computer - you just need a table with 3 columns and two rows for a basic one - unless you want to get all fancy and make one with practice/rcvs logo etc.

Or, if you/anyone you know has one of the old portfolio sheets then you could also use one of those.
