Most employers are rubbish at reviews, appraisals etc. If you get them at all, you're lucky! I expect no one wants to confirm one way or another whether you're still on probation, before your review- I wouldn't want to put on neck on the line. Remember, you still have a right to statutory sick pay, which is what most people get anyway- any more than ssp and you're very lucky! You have a date for a review in a few weeks, which hopefully will confirm the end of your probationary period.

If you are a member of bvna you can phone the HR helpline for the legal standpoint.

I think that the fact there are fundamental changes to your employee entitlements, and because you have had a problem whilst on probation, that you would have been told it ended and your entitlements had changed. It's possible they could back date these entitlements when you have your review, if the reason you are waiting for a couple of weeks is because of staff absence (eg practice manager on holiday etc) or they may extend your probation. Are you in a corporate? It just seems strange that when you've asked, nobody can tell you an answer - have you asked the practice manager/senior partner/head nurse?

Good luck - I hope this is resolved soon
