We really like to use our boards for preventative education - reps are great for materials but we make our own too (we literally just print bullet points on coloured card but I'm sure someone more creative could do something nicer!). We rotate things a lot because we're very small, but it's a great aid when chatting about preventative things over the desk to have the prompt there. I've found that insurance (real-life examples of expensive bills especially), obesity (the % of daily calories certain treats contain), parasites, and allergies have gotten a lot of attention. Neutering too. Royal Canin have a metric shit-tonne of really attractive materials for diet, obesity, neutering, and general life-stage health, so get in touch with your rep for those, but really most reps have something to offer.

We also have a board for all our thank-you cards, drawings, and tributes to wee creatures we've PTS that the owners have given us which gets a lot of attention. I think owners like to see a personal touch and see us as human, especially in a bigger practice.

We have noticeboards for:

- advertising for cat sitters, catteries etc.

- advertising for local charities / cats looking for homes

- Lost & found posters

- Educational posters which are changed monthly (weight, neutering, parasites, fireworks, insurance, geriatrics, microchipping, dental, christmas hazards, toxins...

- information on parking restrictions in the local area

- terms and conditions of the practice

Contact your reps I found them really helpful sent me loads of stuff,, we've done lots, from tick/fleas worms to leaving dogs in cars on hot days, weight, dental ... The role of the vet nurse etc
