[/quote]

MSD Animal Health's statement

"Nothing is more important to MSD Animal Health than the safety and efficacy of our products, and the health and well-being of animals.

Nobivac L4, was launched in 2013 across Europe to prevent dogs from contracting Leptospirosis which is a serious zoonotic disease. It is one of the most widely used vaccines for dogs with several million doses being used annually to successfully prevent infection in dogs.
As a responsible animal health company, we take every adverse reaction report seriously and investigate thoroughly. Whenever possible, we work with the pet owner and attending veterinary surgeon to assemble as much clinical information as we can to help determine the cause of a pet's health issue, and whether or not the product may have been involved . The overall frequency of all pharmacovigilance reports received for this product is what regulatory authorities classify as 'rare'.
The safety profiles of veterinary pharmaceuticals and vaccines are established from rigorous clinical trials and safety warnings for the product are provided on the product data sheet. All suspected adverse events need to be reported through the correct channels so that they can be properly recorded, investigated, reviewed and eventually leading to appropriate actions concerning update of the adverse event section of the SPC, if indeed the relevant regulator concludes that such update is warranted.

It is important to critically examine the facts relating to adverse events vs. anecdotes that are not substantiated by science and medical evidence. A report does not mean causation.
We report findings to governing regulatory agencies around the world (based on a country's respective laws and policies), so that they can make a fully informed, scientific assessment about the safety of the product. We do this so that accurate safety and efficacy information is available for veterinary surgeons prescribing our products.

The adverse event may have been related to an underlying disease, using other drugs at the same time, or other non-drug related causes. Therefore, marketing authorization holders and the authorities are obliged in the EU to apply a causality assessment to each case indicating the likelihood of an adverse event being linked to product administration.

Veterinary professionals are best placed to advise pet owners about the use for specific veterinary medicines and we would always recommend that pet owners should talk to their veterinary professional with any concerns they may have about the use of a particular product."

RE: reception!

https://www.bsava.com/News/tabid/315/ArticleID/612/WSAVA-response-to-Leptospira-vaccination-media-stories.aspx

RE: reception!

I've not had any questions either, thank god!

RE: reception!

ok
