I was wondering how they manage to cover all the material we need to know when you're only in college one day a week... Do they give you alot of outside reading? And is that

RE: Apprenticeship with college 1-2 days a week

I have just completed my first year of VN studies. We had 5-6 different lectures on our college day, first year was a long day 9.30-7.00pm!!!! Did revision material as I went and we had homework and regular tests. I also related lots of stuff practically at work. I think its a good way to qualify because you're hands on and can relate the stuff you learn with the patients you are working with. But most of all it takes 100% commitment, I know of people that pretend they know stuff and they don't you cannot bluff your way through this one, you have to work really hard. It is really worth the sacrifices in the end when you pass those exams go for it!!!!

RE: Apprenticeship with college 1-2 days a week

I have almost finished my first year of attending college 1 day per week. My course is 2 academic years and 1 term in total, there are other colleges that are 2 or 3 years. We get taught a lot each week, usually 2 topics in full. We are then tested on it the following week. We aren't given any topics to research ourselves, everything is taught in class but we are encouraged to read around the topic for approx 8 hours self study each week. Its hard going, but I'm learning a lot

RE: Apprenticeship with college 1-2 days a week

The college we use set students blended learning. They are given tasks or things to research which relates directly to their job - they then produce evidence to show they have done it.
