I'm thinking of applying to become a locum for Vets Now. I was just wondering if anybody could give me an idea of what the hourly night shift rate is likely to be? They ask on the application what hourly rate you are looking for and I have no

RE: Vets now locum wages?

Hi Kerry,

Here at Vets Now we do work on a tier system. The more shifts you do, the higher the rate you are paid. We have some clinics that we have on a set rate, I am not sure where you based but we have some clinics on £200/£220 a night and £20ph. Feel free to drop us an email and I can send you over some more information. Gaps@vets-now.com

Ranges from £12 to £18 for day shifts on their tiered system (the more shifts you work the more you get) but last minute shifts can go for as much as £25-30ph when they are really desperate to fill a shift, these are rare though! I can't help you with the night shifts as I only do day shifts as a locum for them.

Its good fun, you get some fab cases coming through the doors and as a company to locum for I have no complaints

They have a tier system for practices depending on how busy and how often they need staff. They also have a gold/silver/bronze etc for how many locum shifts you do. I know my local practice is £220 a night
