&lt;p&gt;I suppose it is a risk you take, but also depends how flexible you are with where you will work. If your happy to stay away for nights/weeks etc then you should deffo have no issues. Register with more than one locum agency too.&lt;/p&gt;

Met some lovely people and worked in great practices. Learnt things too and even for to help with MRI and CT scans, which was fab! Would say to go for it!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I used Liberty star as an agency (who were great!) And MAC professional as an Umbrella company. You will have to pay PAYE, employee and employer NI and i think MAC took 3% to sort it all, but was deffo worth it. Id just submit a weekly time sheet, countersigned by the practice i was at to verify my hours each Fri and the following Fri would be paid by MAC with a weekly payslip.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Liverty star always found me local employment and couldnt rate them higher.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Im employed now, but would locum again in the future.&lt;/p&gt;
