I locum under my own Ltd company, because the inland revenue did a purge last year on dental and vet nurses who were self employed and there were seveal instances of none payment of tax, which then if self employed refers back to the practice who hired you to foot the bill. So to protect the practice a lot of them will only take you under an umbrella company (which be careful they will fleece you) or if you work under an Ltd. An Ltd cost &amp;pound;150 a year to set up.
