In short, it's a button that appears top right of all content pages (forum threads, news stories, CPD events and gallery entries).

aaah - I was just thinking of the technicalities of the passports, not the diseases as well!

So perhaps a forum called Travelling Animals:

(covering everything to do with travelling pets, such as passports / diseases / care)

RE: CPD Forum Discussions

Pet passport and the diseases which are now finding their way into this country as a result of it is a pretty big subject.
Thanks Selena, I'll make a list and then we can all pick from it (I think we should start off with a maximum of 4 or 5, and they need to be 'big' subjects about which there are likely to be plenty of questions (posts) and ongoing discussion. Pain management sounds good. Perhaps pet passport is a bit niche and might just the sort of thing people occasionally ask questions about in 'Life in Practice'.

RE: CPD Forum Discussions

pain management, people skills. pet passport

RE: CPD Forum Discussions

thanks - I just thought self care could be a bit more prominent sometimes

RE: CPD Forum Discussions
Sounds like an excellent idea
Thanks Cameron Norsworthy.
one which should prove very useful to all current users and I would expect it to attract more users of the site
I very much hope so. I'd like to get these forums really humming again! Particularly in driving the sharing of knowledge and experience, which I think has become even more valuable as the profession has evolved and developed.
Laboratory Diagnostics (microbiology, haematology evaluation, cytology for ears, urine, etc)
Like that one.
wildlife care/emergencies/experiences
Was going to say that I thought that one would be covered by small furries and exotics. But actually no, you're right.
Emergency Critical Care
Another goodun.
I think we need something on self care in there, and something on what makes a practice tick (or not)
Hi Sal,

Yes. What makes a practice tick is really under the 'occupational group', but I'm struggling to think what it might be called. Self care likewise.

RE: CPD Forum Discussions

I think we need something on self care in there, and something on what makes a practice tick (or not)

RE: CPD Forum Discussions
This has proven very popular with veterinary surgeons, and I hope you'll all like it just as much. Not just because it's free CPD, but because sharing knowledge, ideas and experience in forums like this can be such a good way of picking up stuff that you can use in practice.
Sounds like an excellent idea and one which should prove very useful to all current users and I would expect it to attract more users of the site
But I'd love to hear any suggestions for additional subjects you'd like to see covered with their own forum.

To kick off with, we have:

Anaesthesiology
Behaviour (the animal, that is, not the vet)
Medical Care
Physiotherapy
Small Furries & Exotics
Diagnostic Imaging
Surgery.

Any suggestions for others, anyone?
Once again, another great useful feature to look forward to!
Perhaps Laboratory Diagnostics (microbiology, haematology evaluation, cytology for ears, urine, etc), wildlife care/emergencies/experiences and maybe Emergency Critical Care?

Hope these may be useful food for thought
