Looking for opinions on consultations on the above...
Does your practice do VN-led consultations on fleas and ticks? Do you charge for them? How do you get owners to comply with treatments? I'm just saying to use a prevention and/or check for ticks. Look up local area/new walks for tick levels online or call a local vet practice especially if going on holls to a new part of country with dog so they can advise of tick hotspots. But mainly Don't stress as a tick has to be attached for 3days to transfer this disease so get it removed asap and shouldn't be a problem.

RE: Fleas and ticks

Hi Rebecca,

We have some tick leaflets that we could send you they might be of help, you could give them to owners to take away.

RE: Fleas and ticks

Ive been out of practice for the last 5 months so haven't been around since the Babesia cases have been diagnosed. Has any one had owners worried about this? (I used to find that not many people were aware of Lyme Disease so not sure if they will worry about Babesia either?) Its hard to get the message out there without the big marketing campaigns from pharma companies such as Bayer and Lungworm.
