Hi Arlo

I'm liking the new updates! One thing I've noticed though is that I can see on the home page there are new jobs posted since the update, but when I open the job section, the new jobs aren't there. May be me doing something wrong or maybe a glitch with the update??

Still liking the rest of the updates though!

The next big part of this upgrade is the jobs section. Lots of big changes to that, including:

Upgraded search (more accurate geographical search)
More subscription options (in the past, you could only be alerted of any job posted on the site, now you can set up subscriptions to be alerted only of those jobs meeting your criteria (location, job type etc)
You won't see this yet, but we've improved the presentation of the adverts considerably.
Ads now expire automatically after 60 days to improve currency.
And of course it is all mobile phone-friendly.

We're still working on a couple of issues. The RVN jobs icon is still labelled 'OTHER'. We're also checking that jobs are indexed.

All this stuff has cost a bomb, and at some stage, I will be charging for advertising in the new jobs section.

Any feedback about these changes would be really helpful. Try out job subscriptions and claim CPD and let me know how you get on.

The next really big thing on VetNurse is the new CLAIM CPD button.

It appears in the title bar, adjacent to the search box, above forum threads and content pages (such as news, events etc).

Whenever you take part in a forum discussion or read a post you learn something from which is relevant to your role as a veterinary nurse, you click that button, add the time spent (and if you want, some notes), and submit. It then gets added to a record only you can see on the site.

Then, from time to time, you can visit your profile and print a VetNurse CPD Certificate detailing the time spent and what you learned, which can then be uploaded to the RCVS PDR.

You can also use it as a bookmark thing.

I've also fixed the HELP link top right of every page, where you'll find instructions for all this kind of stuff, such as: http://www.vetnurse.co.uk/w/help/1053.claim-cpd.aspx

There's a configuration thing that the developers have to do - but I will let you know the moment it is ready.
