Naturally very very very upset but now determined to pass my 2nd attempt in August and at least now I know how to handle my nerves and what to expect now Just wondering out of curiosity.. how many of you on

RE: How many of you had to resit OSCEs?

Failed my first attempt - so worked up and had to travel 5 hours to Cambridge, stay overnight then wait until 2.30 the next day eek!! Just totally flunked it, but second attempt was surprised I'd passed as thought I'd done really badly lol! You just never can tell until the results come out.

RE: How many of you had to resit OSCEs?

Hi there, I took them beginning of March and passed first time and I can honestly recommend that you look into S&J revision (you can probs find them on social media). They are based worcestershire way and were a god send!!!! they are also bringing out a DVD of all OSCE tasks with each step. Honestly, worth every penny!!

RE: How many of you had to resit OSCEs?

I had the rescue remedy drops that you place under your tongue and the pastels to suck on whilst doing the tasks. REALLY HELPED. Definitely recommend. I started crying half way through mine as i realised i xray the wrong leg then just fell to pieces. Thought i'd failed them all but actually only failed that one! Believe in yourself, you can do it.

Try not to be too hard on yourself. Everything happens for a reason. Second time will be a little easier as you will know what to expect.

RE: How many of you had to resit OSCEs?

I failed first time managed to get every single calculation wrong :S I agree that second time is better because you know what's going to happen and definitely felt more relaxed about it (not sure if that was the rescue remedy though) :p

RE: How many of you had to resit OSCEs?

Me!but i got there in the end after 3 times!

RE: How many of you had to resit OSCEs?

Third time.

It was daft mistakes really. Forgetting to take gloves off before writing on the ear swab and sheet. Plus being TERRIBLE at blood smears.

Be careful if you get the dispensing task- read the dispensing instructions carefully and double check everything you work out in each task.

RE: How many of you had to resit OSCEs?

Hiya, I passed the third time as my nerves got the better of me. As you say once you know what to expect the nerves are more manageable. By the third time I was much more confident. Good luck for August.
