ostrich tendons are fab!

They do take a long time to chew ( mostly)

They dont make a sticky horrible mess

They dont smell

I have several clients who are sure that the chewing and gnawing does remove some solid lumps of tartar from their dogs teeth

My dog's love em

Hmm I've heard about these, do most dogs like them? my dog won't chew rawhide so wonder if he'll chew these

In my experience the ostrich tendons make alot less mess than rawhide chews.

I agree Caro- ostrich meat is really nice.

No biltong is dried meat this is dried tendons. You can make biltong out of most meats, game or domestic meat. You can buy it but it isn't cheap in the UK or make your own the proper spices are available to make biltong. Then either then hang it in the airing cupboard. Or you use a walkers crisp box and hand a light in there then hand your meat and the light provides the heat.
I have made it just marinading it in a garlic ans salt dip then hung it and l liked it. Or use Marks recipe (below) l just like biltong except chillie ones uggs thats just not humane to do that to any meat l want to eat.

You can get ostrich chews from dunlops my houndlings love them not convinced tartar falls off but mine don't have tartar! Takes Bonnie much longer than normal chews - at least 1 minute compared to 10 secs
