We have non slip floors that are about as rough as a cheese grater, that in combination with my knobbly knees is resulting in ALOT of pairs of trousers that I am currently going through.
My practice are very lenient

RE: Knobbly knees and 'holey' trousers....

I would have thought work would keep providing you with a uniform if it is their own floor that is causing your knees 'angelical halo's' Otherwise they should have some alternative like a rubber matting you can put underneath, or even a vetbed.

There's probably a health & safety legislation somewhere that requires suitable protection if your work requires you to be crawling around a lot.. Foam/rubber kneeling matts are cheap and probably available from your wholesaler :)

Good luck either way!

RE: Knobbly knees and 'holey' trousers....

Brilliant idea, looks like a trip to Lidl is required!

RE: Knobbly knees and 'holey' trousers....

They have provided 2 pairs of trousers for me, so far but understandably can't keep buying me them all the time unfortunately

RE: Knobbly knees and 'holey' trousers....

Suffer same! After years of unsuccessfully trying different brands, materials and trouser type I have just bought a pair of silicon knee protectors (from Lidl, so cheap as). My 'lead knee' is my right one, and it's this leg that ALWAYS shreds (and quickly ), so this is the leg I'll wear one on. Not the best look in the world, but at least it might save on trousers and a sore knee, I hope.

Ali h

(PS. I tried to switch from my 'lead knee' to the other one. A resounding 'Oh Dear!' My colleagues found it an hilarious site to see me jiggling around on the floor Up, Down, Switch, Scuffle, Scrabble, Aaargh, Oops, Hang on a tick, Oh bum... I give in!! (Hence the latest knee protector idea...)

To be honest I think your practice should be supplying or at least paying a percentage towards your uniform.. I have never worked in a practice that doesn't supply uniform....
