Pad between the toes first and start your padding layer on the foot. Only apply the dressing when you get to that point. You don't want to waste time getting the examiner/assistant to put on gloves. The same with an ear bandage, don't ask the examiner to hold the dressing in place until the first bandage layer has been applied over the top of it, then you can remove you gloves and continue with ease.

RE: Osce exam

Oh really?
Thanks for your reply you've definitely been very helpful thank you!

I'm just a bit confused as to what to do about the re-sheathing insulin needle station as you can't change the needle on insulin syringes. I've watched some you tube videos of people placing the cap on the table and then inserting the needle into the cap holding the syringe and only pushing the cap in when cap is completely covered by the needle. These videos are all American I can't find any done in the UK so unsure whether the same is taught here??

I didn't study here in the UK as I am foreign qualified so it's a bit tricky to know exactly what is expected!

There is usually a pair of artery forceps available to use to recap the syringe if required. Sometimes there is a kidney dish for you to put your uncapped syringe ready for use. It is usually signposted

RE: Osce exam

hep flush is 2ml

the tidal volume figure you need for your calculation will be written down (they will specify 10 or 15mls)

I used 2.5ml pre and post for tube feed cat and I passed that

for your circuit calculation you only need to work it out using either x1 or x1.5 not both
