contact rcvs re: your registration and cpd. you dont need cpd hours in aus but if youre wanting to keep your uk registration you'd have to upkeep it.
getting a job in busy melbourne shouldnt be an issue just contact kookaburra

Braden's in Western Australia, just south of Perth. Other end of the country. He contributes frequently on vetsurgeon, and has always struck me as a dedicated, very switched on vet.

Thank you Murphy. Did you qualify in the UK? I am looking in the Melbourne area. yes I am unsure on what visa I will qualify for but I am not wanting to go on the short term. More long-term to potentially permanently if all goes well :)

Hey Nicola! I live and work in Western Australia. UK qualified nurses are sought after, but there is a lot of competition here for work as so many people veterinary nursing! Some jobs may only be casual or part time hours but would possibly depend if you were in the city or regional. Also depends on your visa situation, I was turned down on a few jobs due to visa restrictions to begin with. WA is the only state that you need to register with the vet surgeons board to qualify - easy to do, i sent an email and was accepted! CPD wise I do lots of on-line courses, there is the VNCA (equivalent to the BVNA) and they hold state CPDs/workshops etc as well as the yearly conference. Australia love UK Vet Nurses, I colleague of mine went travelling there for about a year and did some locums get work whilst she was there, they took her on over VNs that qualified in Australia, should be really easy to get a job out there.
