Just think about tasks you do in your current role and how important they are such as correct feeding, hygiene, and most importantly the tlc aspect. This will show your patients welfare is paramount to you xxx

[/quote]

definitely - you would be surprised how many qualified nurses flunk interviews because out of everything they say during an interview the one thing that some of them just don't get around to mentioning is patient care - and I don't know about anybody else but I find that pretty telling

RE: Potential Training Help

I wouldnt think they would expect too much technical.knowledge.
I get what you mean when the opportunity comes and the feelings that come with it.

I have bought a large amount of books over the past year (I'm almost bankrupt) to help in being the best nurse I possibly can be. When I say it would mean the world, it really would.

RE: Potential Training Help

Nice to "meet" you too Glen! It means a lot to you, it is natural to be apprehensive. I was extremely nervous, I suppose you could say desperate for my role!!
I have experience in the veterinary "clinical" side of things and would like to hope they ask me about my experiences "clinically" in my VCA role however you state cases I were involved in and subjects which are being currently discussed this is a good form of expanding on interest, experiences and ability to update myself regarding my chosen vocation. Thank you for the reassurance of what I was thinking, maybe I was just being a tool panicking over more grueling questions.

:D

PS....Nice to meet you :)

Unless my understanding of it is wrong...which is likely! haha.

I wasn't asked anything like this in my interview, they were looking for someone that they thought could ride out the training, was compassionate and enthusiastic with a realistic understanding of the job. Perhaps they will ask you questions about your duties from your previous role? Such as any cases you were involved in? What were your responsibilities as a VNA? They shouldn't expect too much. I did some further reading around subjects currently being discussed in the industry and spoke about my interest in those and found areas of the job I was interested in and was looking forward to pursuing. Sorry I can't be of more help, I am sure someone much wiser will be along soon. Good Luck!!! :)
