we use a graph style ga chart, i prefer it to column style i had used elsewhere. Above the graph we have columns for recording time, flow rate, anaesthetic agent %, systolic, mean and dystolic bp, spo2, co2, temp and space for comments like ivft rate, drugs given etc. i plot HR,RR and BP values, recording HR and RR beside the plot (as bp values recorded above)

It took us a long time design a chart that everyone was happy with, but it was mostly what should be on the cover sheet and what was in the surgical safety check list that was an issue.

RE: Anaesthetic Charts

hi,

animalcare do a really good chart, very thorough and easy to use, we got a load by placing a small order with them for medetomidine and atipamizole. shame we used the last one before we had chance to scan it in to the computer :(

I like a graph style, you can always put your dots in about the right place and write the value - or just write the value

[/quote]

I'm with Laura on this one, graph style is fine if it is designed well enough to allow space to write the value down, then everyone is happy.

RE: Anaesthetic Charts

I like a graph style, you can always put your dots in about the right place and write the value - or just write the value

RE: Anaesthetic Charts

I much prefer a graph style anaesthetic chart as I find it better for looking at trends.

RE: Anaesthetic Charts

Yeah thats currently what we have right now is colums to wite in the exact figure, rather than just putting a dot in round about the right place on a graph lol.

RE: Anaesthetic Charts

when i started at my practice we had the graph style. Drove me mad and i changed it to columns where we physically write Time, P, R, MM, temp, Iso, o2, spo2, comments. Find it much easier to follow and to ensure recording it accurately
