Self employed or agency?

Hello,
Considering a change as there's quite a demand in my area. Trouble is I'm unsure if I want to part with my own hard earned cash to pay for a locum agency. I'm an established nurse within my practice but changes are afoot and I'd like another

RE: Full time to locum. My locums (depending on area) earn around £15 per hour so it works out at 600 a week if you're doing 40 hours.

I only really work with long term locums, some book in for up to 6 months at a time - so essentially it is a full time position just a much higher rate.

Thank you for your kind reply. There's no chance in hell i'll take home that much, unless i'm doing last minute on call shifts for OOH places i suppose but that's not why i'm looking into locum work.

I've given 18 years work to my current place of work and still love it there, i'm exploring other avenues, seeing what's out there but we haven't used locum nurses in the past - we have had a fairly good retention rate for full time staff

Alternatively I have Self Employed nurses who work through me as well, as I said the practice pays me so it does not affect your wage what so ever.

I can say that you need to be consistently earning £550 a week ( at least) in order to benefit from being Self Employed through the accountancy firm that I always recommend - who I have learnt to be the best in the business.

Either way you are not going to have to part with any cash through using an agency (me) you will only part with your cash to pay an umbrella company or an accountancy firm.

If you need any advice I'm quite happy to talk to you about it :)
