may i ask how your business works? how you manage patients that would need to be hospitalised/ surgeries etc?

It sounds quite fascinating!

But i do agree that there is a major shortage of RVN's as i know of several vacancies that have been open for months. I also agree with what has been said, good salaries do attract people, but sadly, not always good people! :(

Hi,

There does appear to be a 'lack of nurses' in the Devon area at the moment. I know of other practices that have advertised positions and only had a couple of applicants.

I might be doing you a dis-service but after reading your post my first impression was "you get what you pay for" or "you pay peanuts, you get monkeys". I tend to find that practices struggle to fill posts because they want the best nursing staff at the lowest possible cost - there are plenty of posts from nurses on this forum which raise this issue.

Now, that said, I have absolutely no knowledge of what renumeration/rewards you are offering - they might be very generous, and what part of the country you are based will affect this also, but my suggestion would be to review what you are offering as good staff are good for business and worth paying well.

I would also regularly place adverts on the job page here as lots of nurses use this website and it's free.

Hope this doesn't sound arsey - it's not intended to be!

I'm the opposite - wanted full time but had to settle for part time

I wish I could find a position like this in my area. I would jump at the chance. Have you advertised on this site? I am always hearing of nurses struggling to find part time hours, so it surprises me that you have not had much success. Good luck!
