Thinking I can have some much needed rest and get some house cleaning done

RE: Off work and I can't switch off.....

[quote user="Alison Clare Hickman"]

I wanted to do metalwork but it was boys only, failing that I wanted to do physics or engineering science which were also boys only - my dad was an engineer I had been brought up in an engineering background, at 14 I was already a very competent cook and was very capable at house keeping there was just my dad and me and what one of us didnt do the other did and I just didn't see any point in Home Ec as a study subject.

Soo .... practical session home ec half a jar of jam in 6 tarts - sure I knew there was too much jam in there that was part of the plan - 6 weeks of losing break times so I could chisel/scrub/ scour every trace of burnt on jam off the baking tray/tart tray wasnt part of the plan sadly but it was worth it. A few weeks after that incident I backed it up turning on a liquidiser before putting the lid on - that cost me a few hundred lines and cleaning of cupboards, walls and anything else that got covered. My teacher gave up after that one and said that my talents were better diverted in another direction - and they were, straight down to the very end of the corridor and the Metalwork class

Twice a week a go to Karate, but I need more than this. I'm starting a course soon, but I like the sound of baking, I love baking

RE: Off work and I can't switch off.....

I used to do this and since then have found other healthier interests and hobbies that I can spend some productive time with - for me it just helped to broaden my horizons and bring work issues into perspective - reminded me that there is another life outside of vet nursing if you like.

I have made it a rule that when the uniform comes off so does the vetnurse head and that means instead I am a good rough cook - forget feline nutitrition now and again - human nutrition figures quite high on my list , a middling woodworker, an aviation anorak (esp DH types), a craft worker,a therapist, a DIYer - hell I even get around to the housework now and again.

Inject a bit of variety and spice your life up a bit - enjoy the change
