I have seen your anonymous post about locuming whilst waiting to become RCVS registered. I am a consultant for Recruit4Vets and work only with Veterinary Nurses. The answer is yes you can locum and there are lots of positions out there at the moment.

We ask all locums to complete a registration form which has a skills matrix so when it gets to the point of putting you forward to a practice and position we have discussed they (the practice) can see your skills and use you to your best advantage.

Are you still looking/ available for locum work?

Regards,

There is a period of time (think it's 3 months) that your SVN status remains from the point where your college apply for your certificate following your results and you receiving it. You are not qualified until you are certificated. Once you have this, you can then apply for listing. Hopefully this wont go over the three month deadline otherise your SVN status expires and then technically you are in limbo, you are not a student nor are you listed and cannot perform any schedule 3 procedures i.e. take a blood sample, give an injection, put a cannula in etc. Some practices will still utilise a non listed locum to help with day to day duties but know your limitations during this time.

Maybe get clarification from the RCVS about your options whilst waiting.

Good luck.
