We had a visit from the college last week to check out are new practice to see if we still meet the standards of being a training practice. Anyway everything went well, however whilst they was here she mentioned Lay Persons, so she was

RE: Visit from the college

Thank you everyone and thank Ruth I will watch the webinar as well see what they have to say.

RE: Visit from the college

the RCVS have a webinar from February entitled 'Veterinary Nurses and the Law'. They are as good as the training provided by the practice. We really appreciate them and they are a valuable member of the team and do help to take the pressure off the nurses.

RE: Visit from the college

Thanks for responses, I'm glad you agree as well, as I honestly don't think we would cope without them. They really take a lot of pressure of us so that we can concentrate on nursing care, everything is done either under supervision or under the direction of vet/nurse. They always ask questions as well, I agree with you Sal I think they need to understand the real world of vet practice. Hopefully they will send through more info on this so that we can set guidelines if we need to. Until then they will continue there duties as normal.

RE: Visit from the college

They may be referring to the literature from the rcvs which is doing the rounds basically identifying most tasks as schedule 3. I would ring the college and they can tell you a bit more about it.
