Go the extra mile and get a nice embroidery with logo, when done in bulk it is pretty inexpensive and you do not need to worry about loosing your badge etc

I get ours from eBay! I've washed mine quite a few times and it's still going strong!

on the whole I prefer the magnetic type but forgot to mention keep them well away from your watch if you wear a fob watch

We have magnetic ones and though they can get pulled off if wrestling a wriggly dog i much prefer them. The pinned ones can cause holes if pulled and pins can get bent and stick in you!!

The magnetic ones cause less damage to uniforms (and people/animals as they have no pins) but their staying power can be a bit doubtful sometimes and they are not as good at surviving the washer if you forget to take them off. The magnet can come in handy tho - once found a sheared off insulin needle in a cats neck this way -diabetic cat with an owner who was just a teensy bit heavy handed, poor cat!
