i started the course in Sep and tbh am not really enjoying it. Am having communication issues in that I asked for help to clarify one of the questions in the workbook as it was worded vaguely and it took 2 weeks to get a reply. I submitted my next workbook 2 weeks ago and the email address inbox was full so I sent it to 2 other emails who both said they would ensure my workbook got to the moderators yet when I emailed her to check she's not received it and I am also still waiting for my next workbook to be sent out. Am getting a little frustrated!

A bunch of us who are currently doing the course (ending in October for us) set up a facebook group - feel free to join! There's a few on there from the cohort of students before us too. We bounce ideas of each other, support each other and help each other out, and generally have a bit of a moan lol.

It's quite intense, and takes up a lot of your time, but it's interesting and I do feel that I've learnt alot :-)

I'm also starting theCOAPE nutrition course, just got my books sent to me and waiting or my 1st assignment. If I'm right I think you get the post nominals Cert Nut when you have completed the course.

ive just enrolled on the coape nutrition certificate starting in September and I can't wait! I asked them to send me a sample of the notes so I could decide if the course was for me and it looks really good so I signed up. Always worth asking for sample notes to be able to judge what level the course is aimed at etc

I have just completed the COAPE course. I had a firm interest in nutrition and had a large knowledge base to begin with but felt like I learned a lot. It is very much led by you. You get the essay q's and a word count and some fairly detailed info related to the topics but this cannot be referenced. It takes up a lot of your time and you must be willing to put the effort into research. I chose this one because it focuses on cat and dog health/clinical nutrition. It covers the basics in the fist assignment but then explores diseases, life stage feeding and breeding/neutering needs.

I am glad I did it, but shop around and look at course content and what you get from it, the COAPE one gives you a transferable qualification that is a recognised level in the outside world, not just veterinary.
