One of the things that has sprung up from the recent redevelopment work on these sites is the need to review the gallery section.
One idea that has gone down quite well over on VetSurgeon, and I wonder whether it would be useful here too

RE: What videos and images would you find useful

I'd say they are, have a look on youtube at a sample if you search VN clinical skills training.

RE: What videos and images would you find useful
Hi Arlo, clinical skill DVD's were by Plumpton College
OSCEs are something that have been on my mind for a while, actually! Need to research them a bit more, would be interested to know who makes the dvd you've got.

Alison (and anyone else), what I really need is a list, in order of importance, of the sort of things that nurses most commonly need to identify. Parasites (not the ones that don't pay the bill ), are the most obvious. But how often are nurses called upon to identify / classify urine crystals vs yeasts, bacteria etc.?

That'll help me focus my efforts in the right place!

RE: What videos and images would you find useful

Love the idea - good images of all the more common parasites, plus typical and atypical pictures of the urine crystals, bacteria, yeasts and blood cells you're likely to see in practice - would be nice to have a quick reference in one place rather than trawling through huge academic tomes with things you're unlikely to see unless you work with exotics in a foreign country (sorry - bit extreme but I'm sure you know what I mean!!)

RE: What videos and images would you find useful

I think parasitology would be a good area to cover within the gallery, being a student OSCE task videos would be extremely helpful,as well as ECC skills-CPR,triage ect,not just for students but also to refresh RVN's & CC's within practice. I have them on DVD but feel I would refer to them more on this site. The current videos of surgery are good as this gives an idea of the kind of procedures that are not always covered in first opinion and can help when moving onto a hospital or referral.
