With the new communication module in the SVN cirriculum, what are people's feelings toward this? Has it made any difference, improved communication skills within the clinics etc.

RE: SVN new communication module: feedback

Well done, and good luck with round two!

Sorry, I didn't reply to your message sooner. I was bogged down in my paper and then totally forgot. Thank you for your reply! I am doing the RVC Graduate Diploma. Module completed and passed. Now onto round two.

Thanks

Which qualification is it that you're doing? Is it the C+G or the CQ diploma? (sorry, not au fait with whether the curriculum for these differs at all)

I probably can't help you with your research as such, however this is a topic that's of interest to me, so if there's anything I can help you with then please shout!

I helped a past student do a communication assignment (probably the same assigment that you're about to do), and I have to say it worked really well at focussing on thinking about communciation skills, dealing with difficult situations such as really upset or angry clients etc. We also looked at some more peripheral stuff such as informed consent. We did some more practical stuff after that, such as me istening in to her consultations and getting her to think back over them, consider what she did really welll, and anything that could have been done dfiferently etc.

Like I say, give me a shout if I can help
