It's a bit difficult to set out the course content and outline of an entire 1 year diploma; there's just not the depth to do that in an email. Sal's link to our website has a good explanation of the course, as well as the support you would get from CAW to help your students complete the course.

Why not have your students take the course and get the qualification? We have a 'Pay As You Learn' program where your employer can pay a monthly direct debit (£69 per month at the time of this post) until they complete, if they're not able to pay the entire tuition at once (which in fact is only £789 if you're an apprentice, and £1025 if you're attending as a regular student, plus awarding body fees). It's a distance learning course so there's no need to attend college weekly, all learning is online, and all practical work is done in the veterinary practice.

So absolutely yes, we support in-house CPD - but let us help you and get your colleagues that qualification at the end! :)

the two I work with did this one as a correspondence. Is a good course, comprehensive and well thought out. To me this should be the basic training for all nursing staff but just make sure that your trainees/students are well motivated - mine were lacking any semblance of enthusiasm after the first couple of units and I had to practically put a gun to their heads to make them finish. I found the whole process soul destroying sadly and it has put me off ever doing it again. I have helped train many nurses in the past let alone nursing assistants- but after these two.... I hope you have a better experience with yours.
