My friend is a dog walker and she makes every new client sign a document stating that their pet is neutered, good with other dogs, health conditions, wormed/flea'd regularly and also has details of their registered vet etc. I thought this was a good idea but might not be as important if he is walking one dog at a time? I know in Edinburgh you now need to apply for a licence to walk dogs in council owned areas (as a dog walker) although nobody has ever asked to see it. Not sure if they have similar rules elsewhere but might be worth asking the local council

Many thanks for that, no Andy's limit is one dog unless someone has a couple but no mixed family's and also always on leads, found a local company walks up to 6 dogs off leads! no way.
Any more info welcome he is keen to start so l better get ins and my butt in gear sorting stuff out for him.

My friends registered and got her insurance through Narp. Nat Assoc of Registered Pet Sitters. It allows people to search their area on the website and find dog walkers etc. you just list what services you offer. She has had a lot of enquiries this way as well as local word of mouth.

i used to do it. Think I got insurance with pet business insurance,I found it online. I charged £10/hr and never walked more than one dog at a time as many companies do. I loved every second of it!

hope your hubby manages to get up and running. Face books great for advertising and I also advertised in local vets and pet stores
