I remember having to by my own tunics and trousers (because we were expected to wear them for practical sessions at college) but my TP provided me with scrubs with the pratice logo so that I matched the rest of the nursing team.

Ever since, I've had uniforms provided as some would argue they're classed as PPE, which your employer has a duty to provide.

there are still quite a few places that get student nurses to buy their own uniforms as they figure if the student doesn't stay the practice isn't out of pocket

Didnt know about the tax rebate i will look into that, and yes i know its slightly odd ive never had to buy nurses uniform in my 10 years

Wow that is a first... your best would be contact the manufactures directly on the uniforms especially if your on a budget. there are also government rebates through tax for situations of purchasing your own uniform.

*failing that as they have not provided a uniform, on a technically do you have to wear one!

should your practice not be supplying you uniform?
