I am due to do my osces in July and I want to start revising the lab work. Does anyone know what ecto and exo parasites we have to learn for it please? Anyone done the osces lately?? Any help will be appreciated.

I got identifying ectoparasites on my first OSCE. I think you need to know biting & sucking lice of dogs and cats, otodectes, chyletiella and flea (!). Thankfully, you can either give the examiner the latin name or just the species and what they do e.g. canine sucking louse. Take your time identifying, as I failed this one because a lot of them seem to look so similar Good luck!

Oh no sorry to hear about your osces. Ok I was hoping I wouldn't have to learn all of them but if that's what I have to do. Also can you give them the common name for example biting louse of the cat instead of the Latin name?

Thank you for replying

RE: osces!!

I sat mine last year and found this book .... http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1904627307?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00 very useful, some out of date stuff but some good tips.
