We are currently re-organising our practice puppy and kitten packs and we are meant to include leaflets from at least 2 different insurance companies. We already have Pet Plan but I cant seem to find another company that makes them? Any ideas?

RE: Leaflets!!

Coincidentally we had a guy from Agria insurance pop in today with some leaflets. We have received leaflets from them through the post in the past, but unfortunately aren't technically able to display them as we signed up to the whole Petplan thing a fair few years back. Although we do not actively recommend any particular insurance as the petplan thing got so tiring after while, we just tell people to do their research, like when doing their car insurance! Needless to say we have a Petplan meeting in June to go over a few things, probably give us a good talking to for not getting any clients signed up!

RE: Leaflets!!

I thought this would only be the case if the specific member of staff has undertaken the Pet plan insurance advisor courses, where they are then legally obliged to petplan.

I used to get around this by saying, "there are other companies that do offer similar forms of cover, but I cannot legally discuss them with you". I also remember somewhere regarding advertising within the regulations there was something with regards to there have to be a publicity of an alternative company, as this would be forced and pressured sales if not.

RE: Leaflets!!

If you are a 'PetPlan' practice you are in an agreement not to recommend or indeed push policies from other companies. It may not be current this information but it certainly used to be the way. We have made a generic in house leaflet that discusses insurance and mentions no company, it helps explain excess's etc.

RE: Leaflets!!

Pet Protect used to, not sure if they stll do.
