Too old pmfft!!! Im 37 now and due to resit my osces in July. At 34, I relocated (5hours away!) and left friends and family and full on life in order to retrain. I worked really hard to resit my gcse's, work full time (office job) do 1 day a week voluntary in a local vets (which was so hard to get) and work in kennels at weekends: all for the experience!

Im now fortunate to be living in a wonderful place and working for a great employer. Its tough going back to study at any age but it really tests you when you are older. Its been hard (and fun!) but I would do it all again. As the saying goes "They never said it would be easy; they just promised it would be worth it'.....

Absolutely NOt too old! I qualified when turned 39 :) Go for it, you will be very employable with life experience behind you.

Not at all I would employ someone your age as an SVN in a heart beat - you have some life and job experience, which often helps when dealing with the public face to face and on the phones/clinics - these usually terrify young SVN's!

Good luck! Such a good thing to get an opportunity to do what you have wanted.

I agree! I thought I was too old to start at 25, but there were many older ladies in my class. If it's something you want to do, then go for it! Age is only a number! Good luck!

I started as an SVN in 2007 just after my 45th birthday... so if you consider yourself too old at 37 then I was positively ancient!

(My birth certificate is written in hieroglyphs and on papyrus. Time Team anyone? Hahaha!!).

Never too old to do something you have wished for .Life is too short & 40 is the new 30.Go for it!!
