*Are you expected to unwrap bandage to check for inflammation and infiltration and then re-bandage?
*To check the line is patent

RE: OSCE 21 Intravenous inj

Hi

I just sat mine in February so I'm hoping my memory is up to scratch! You don't take the bandage off, you would just tell the examiner what you would do. e.g I would take the bandage off and check for any dampness of the bandage, swelling, redness etc. Checking the line is patent you need to hep flush, I used about 2ml, remembering to swab your ports with surgical spirit and occluding your line with the white clip is fine. Make sure that when you attach the fluids that you run the line through quickly and then set it to the rate that they have stated.

Hope this helps!
