This is a fantastic book if you want to be able to use it in practice as it has client handouts at the back covering lots of common client problems/topics! It is very up to date & is written by very knowledgable behaviourists.

I would recommend it to anyone looking for a 'Behaviour' book!

Patricia McConnell does some great books on training/behaviour. I'd recommend any you can get your hands on.

I had a great one but I have loaned it to someone so dont know the name of the author but it was called, 'Understanding the Rescue Dog', it is a fabulous book. I am sure if you done a google search, you could get results.

A good one for removing dominance myths is:

Dominance: Fact or Fiction by Barry Eaton.

Sarah Whitehead does some good ones, as does Gwen Bailey - all about positive reinforcement training and ways of preventing unwanted behaviours in the first place.

Depends on what you want to spend because I have been searching for new ones recently :)

Couple I own and are good:

BSAVA Manual of Canine and Feline Behaviour Problems (think there is a new one due out soon so you may want to wait a little!)

Ain't Misbehavin by David Appleby

One I have been recommended but still trying to get is called The Perfect Puppy by Gwen Bailey.

I will be keeping an eye on this thread with interest too!

I like Peter Neville, Dog behaviour explained. He has a short piece saying the problem then how to fix it. He does a cat one as well.
