I'm currently a student in my 2nd year and coming to the end of my training (hooray!). At some point after qualifying I am hoping to possibly become self-employed and possibly set up a business similar to a kind of 'mobile nurse' service

RE: Going Self - Employed: What are We Allowed To Do?

We use Outsauce. I have been locuming on and off for a while self employed but want to start using an umbrella company.

thanks :)

RE: Going Self - Employed: What are We Allowed To Do?

The umbrella company I use don't take a lot from me for them doing my taxes and such. By not a lot I mean about £11 per pay. So if you happen to get two payments in from two different companies in one week, it's that amount from each separate pay check.

Personally, I think £11 is such a tiny amount that's it's worth me not having to do my own accounts and possibly screw them up. At least they know what they're doing.

RE: Going Self - Employed: What are We Allowed To Do?

Hi

i think you would need to consult with the rcvs about what you are and aren't allowed to do without having a vet on the premises. If you are a member of the bvna they have a helpline which may be useful.

RE: Going Self - Employed: What are We Allowed To Do?

Thanks, that helps and clears things up a bit.

If you were a mobile nurse I think you could do your usual nurse consults e.g. weight clinics, nail clips etc. I think if you wanted to microchip you need a vet to confirm your competent at doing so (the vet at my old practice did this for me) and that way you can buy your own chips too. Otherwise, I'm not sure of other restrictions...

Your weigh and worms might be tricky if your not a SQP?

RE: Going Self - Employed: What are We Allowed To Do?

Hi, thanks for letting me know... i'm sorry about that, Im looking into how to stop the repeated emails so hopefully it should stop.

RE: Going Self - Employed: What are We Allowed To Do?

Hi, not sure what is going on with your post but I am getting this in my emails on constant repeat !!
