We use Outsauce. Rarely have any problems and if there is ever an issue they get it sorted straight away and they are really nice :)

Hi Julie-anne- what umbrella company do you use if you dont mind me asking? I have been locuming on and off for a while self employed but want to start using an umbrella company.

The umbrella company I use don't take a lot from me for them doing my taxes and such. By not a lot I mean about £11 per pay. So if you happen to get two payments in from two different companies in one week, it's that amount from each separate pay check.

Personally, I think £11 is such a tiny amount that's it's worth me not having to do my own accounts and possibly screw them up. At least they know what they're doing.

i think you would need to consult with the rcvs about what you are and aren't allowed to do without having a vet on the premises. If you are a member of the bvna they have a helpline which may be useful.

If you decided to locum you don't need to use an umbrella company if you're happy to work out and pay you're own tax :)

If you were a mobile nurse I think you could do your usual nurse consults e.g. weight clinics, nail clips etc. I think if you wanted to microchip you need a vet to confirm your competent at doing so (the vet at my old practice did this for me) and that way you can buy your own chips too. Otherwise, I'm not sure of other restrictions...

Your weigh and worms might be tricky if your not a SQP?
