I am currently on a temporary registration till 25th September this year. I would like to do some locum work but have some questions. How easy is it to do your own tax, VAT etc as self employed? Or is it better

RE: Freshly qualified wanting to go into locum work

Hi Charlotte *waves*

In a similar position atm . Locuming and loving it. A few peaks and pit falls but everything does.

On average I'm turning down 4-5 contracts a week because there is such demand.
Drop me a pm if I can help at all

RE: Freshly qualified wanting to go into locum work

Hi Charlotte,

Currently there is an average of 2.2 nurses per practice; anyone that has more than that means that there's a practice screaming for nurses. Check out VN Times - there's 3-4 pages of 'vet nurse wanted' ads and almost as many in Vet Times. Pretty much anyone hiring a nurse is urgently seeking cover; there have been half a dozen topics here on vetnurse.co.uk alone!

So yes, there's work...don't worry about that.
