Doesn't anyone have an recommendations? As Summer is approaching I don't want to wear anything that'll make me sweat but comfort is a real issue! I've worn proper nursing shoes

RE: Footwear Advice!

All the above but with no holes in the top or sides to let piddle or other fluids through. Plus, washable/disinfectable.

My history: closed crocs (previously I wore lookee likes tho not as nice) - so far in my current SA practice these are working well with 100% cotton socks. Very comfortable (got the footbed ones). http://www.jellyegg.com/

Previously, I have tried trainers (from cheap to expensive) - I eventually found a pair of Nikes aerobics that were very comfortable and supportive and lasted about 8 months; to DM's - both the shoe and boots varieties, however I wore away the top coat on the leather and toes part thru cleaning/kneeling, but they did last a long time (a year and a half).

Outdoor - need to be easily washable as fed up of picking out mud from clogged-up cleats! I've found Yard Boots good for this purpose - a stiff-brush will do the job and regular dip in a bucket of disinfection.

When I worked in a Mixed Practice - strong enough in the toes department to withstand being trodden on. The DM's did the job in this respect (steel toe caps).

I may have a look at the sketcher go walk though as they are a similar principal. Love my fitflops though, it will be hard to give them up!

RE: Footwear Advice!

I've just bought myself some Skechers GoWalk and so far I love them! Comfy. Supportive. we're on our feet for long hours and the occasional rush to that crashing patient. I wouldn't wear anything else. Check there isn't a uniform policy. Talk it over with your bosses. I'd recommend trainers Any day of the week. I don't find crock supportive at all. Injured my back whilst wearing crocks.

RE: Footwear Advice!

I wear smart black memory foam sketchers trainers they are so comfy especially when on your feet all day

RE: Footwear Advice!

I find these really good they are called wock clogs can get them on amazon and find them quite comfy

RE: Footwear Advice!

I guess it partly depends on whether you have any uniform restrictions re footwear. I'm lucky I can wear pretty much anything on my feet (within reason) so I wear comfy trainers - I find Hi-tec comfortable for my feet (thankfully cos they are super-cheap!) . I over-pronate+++ so also need insoles with raised arches to support my feet/ankles and these really help me. One of my colleagues wears MBTs and thinks' they're great - but expensive.
