I want to do a decent CPD course in order to bring my skills up to date. I always wanted to do the DipAVN but I don't think I can devote enough time to it with

RE: Which is best post-qualification CPD course?? I am now working part time for Vets now, so am workin g in the ECC field. I have recently started the ECC course to increase my confidence which was quite low when i first returned to nursing - i couldn't remember anything! I'm only a short way into it and am finding it brilliant! So enjoyable and not to 'techy' if you know what i mean. Would thoroughly recommend.. :) good luck in whatever you decide to do :)

RE: Which is best post-qualification CPD course??
i passed my ECC Certificate last September too and it is definitely worth it!

i feel it has made me so much more knowledgeable and confident and has helped improve nursing in practice :)

please don't be put off by the 'practical' exam as there is nothing practical about it! I qualified as a nurse back home in Holland in 2006 and never done anything as academic as this and I was really scared I would fail just because of language and depth of knowledge but it really is doable! :)

you're not judged on 'practical skills' as such as it is more about recognising practical things from pictures.

i say go for it! :)

RE: Which is best post-qualification CPD course?? Well done for passing the CertVNECC! I might reconsider doing it if I don't actually have to do practical exams :-)

RE: Which is best post-qualification CPD course??

I've just completed and passed the CertVNECC by vets now... it was challenging but really enjoyable.

The practicals were not actual physical 'doing' practicals, they have changed the format so you write down the answer relating to a picture, blood results, ECG trace etc.

I would recommend it to anybody with an ECC interest.
