We work mix of early and late shifts (8am - 4,30pm or 11am - 7.30pm), (8 hours a days/ 40 hour week) and do 1 in 4 weekends (Sat/ Sun Mornings) with a day off in lieu

RE: Help - Nurses Rotas

We work 4 10 hour days, 8.30-7pm. We had a similar problem, needing staff first and last thing, so implemented the 10hour days to combat this and increase continuity. Works well for us, well, aside from working with minimal staff, so when people are on holiday we're short :(

I worked my Rota on two early starts so 830 and then two lates 9/10 start. I work 9-6 as head nurse. The nurses are on a kennel/theatre/float rotation and work 8hr days as our busiest times are first and last thing So that's when I need more nurses. This works well for us :). We only do 36hrs a week so one day a week get a 2pm finish

RE: Help - Nurses Rotas

our shift are 8-5 or 9-6. However the on call nurse does a split shift 8-1.30 then 5-7.30. They will all do one week day on call, they take it in turns to do the Friday then whoever is on call sat/sun they have the Tuesday off. Seems to work really well. x

RE: Help - Nurses Rotas

Thank you for your post

RE: Help - Nurses Rotas

We have separate rotas for our rvns and svns rvns work either 8-5.30, 9-6.30 or 1-7 they are then on call, our svns work either 8-5, 8.30-5 or 10-7 they are then on call we do have probs when rnvs are off so are looking to employ part time morning RVN working 8.30-1

RE: Help - Nurses Rotas

We have staff shortages when people are on long weekends (from the previous weekend worked) and when staff are waning to take holidays.
