That's correct.

On VetSurgeon, members tend to invite anonymous posters to send them a PM if they think they can help (which they can then do using their own account, if they want).

Maybe if anyone has help they want to offer privately (golly this is getting convoluted!) they could reply to the post asking the OP to directly message them, given they will be replying to the post as themselves.... That makes sense right? We do that a bit already "hey if you want to talk about this please message me"

Only thing is, the OP must message them as themselves. Really can't have messages floating around from anonymous that we can all access... ARLO can you set the anonymous account to not be able to send or receive messages? Or do we not like that idea? (Also, does anyone else think we need one of those lights to shine into the sky like in Batman whenever we need Arlo?)

Better than that - I've added a general anonymous account so that members can seek advice from peers anonymously. It's something I've had on vetsurgeon.org for years - not sure why I didn't have it here already.

Rules of the anonymous account: It can ONLY be used for asking for advice from others, never for having a pop at another member, or just a rant!

Set up a new profile with anonymous name with no geographical or company identities (let Arlo know). Best to do this then no connection in public whatsoever to you.
