I&amp;#39;ve done some locum work and its ok. You need to find a decent umbrella company (to deal with tax, national insurance etc, but they will charge you a small administration fee, but you can also claim expenses - petrol, food etc). I used an umbrella company called FPS and this seems to be popular.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Generally speaking you can earn a lot more an hour (I was getting &amp;pound;13 p/hr) but again this&amp;nbsp;depends on the locum agency you use and area you live. Importantly it&amp;#39;s good to plan ahead, if you know you&amp;#39;re going to be working at a certain place for 6 week&amp;nbsp;organise your next job, when you&amp;#39;re not working obviously you&amp;#39;re not earning.&lt;/p&gt;
