I have a level 3 diploma in VN and I don't really understand the difference between the diploma in vet nursing and the Bsc

RE: further education

Yeah its paying back the student loan that worries me! how much will you have to pay back monthly do you know? good luck for September Maylane! oh the RCVS one sounds good! It's 2 grades highee then a degree and the RCVS Dip. All distance learning too. it's a really good course.

RE: further education

I have a place at Harper Adams for sept 2015 to study for the DipAVN. I am applying for a student loan - veterinary nurses are not well paid which makes the student loan a really viable option to fund the course since the actual amount we will have to repay each month after graduation fairly small! (the only bonus to having a crummy salary!)

Good luck

I'll have a shop around then and see what there is. I think I should be able to get a student loan so hopefully that wont be too much of an issue. Thank you for your help! For some reason I feel like this course is going to be a very scary and daunting thing to do! x

RE: further education

The dip avn is often studied alongside the bsc hons. You do modules for dipavn which then count towards degree if you decide to carry on. Most courses are mainly distance learning with occasional study weekends so you can still study somewhere that isnt local to you. It is a lot of work so to me the priority would be a supportive college rather than just most local. I would talk to all providers as to how they run their courses and also check costs as they do vary, though you may be eligible for student finance for tuition fees. As well as solihull harper adams and myerscough also do courses, there may be more. I would contact each for info and to get a general feel for how they work.
