so who would be signing the vaccination record? and who is taking responsibility for your students in the unlikely event anything goes wrong?

I started my nurse training in September and still have not received my anything back from the RCVS officially stating that i am enrolled as a student nurse and that i can do any schedule 3 acts, which means that legally i cannot give any injections even under supervision. (i think 3 months is a very long time for them to just process some forms but i am still waiting!!!) So are they enrolled with the RCVS yet? And if not then they cannot do this.

which course are they doing is it the one with Central Skills or is it the RCVS Course? I had to wait a while before I had access to my online log, if they speak to their college/course provider I'm sure they will be able to sort something out.

And with regards to the vaccines - None of the student do these, but I guess it depends on the practice and their polices. A few of the RVN's will do second Vacs but its the vets that should do this really.

I think it is very early in their training to be doing this as they need to be questioning owner and doing basic healthcheck to make sure everything is ok for them to have vaccine - not good vaccinating it if it is unwell in some way and need experience to know what to ask. My students would also always be supervised to make sure vacc reconstituted and given correctly. Also if clients have any queries do they have the knowledge to answer correctly?
