I have been having a hot dinner before i came in. but then find i cant really eat ( bar bad foods ie choc) we do 7:15-0815 and by ourselves no sleeps though. So that can be tough.

Do you find you get sleep ok when on your week off?

cheers for info though.

RE: Night nurses

Heya. Our rota is 7 nights on: 1800-0830 (followed by a week off). We have an ACA which does 2345-0815 which gives us the chance to go to bed -technically from midnight but more like 3 or 4. I normally have a proper cooked meal before I leave for work and then I take a packed lunch. I learnt very early on that trying to eat hot food on a busy night just doesnt mix! I normally try and eat around 2300 if I get chance and then have a cereal bar when I get up around 6ish (depending on meds/number of inpatients).
